Structure Fire With Injuries - Frankford School Road

At 0445 hrs on April 12th, 2007 the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company, Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company EMS and Sussex County EMS were alerted for a Structure Fire.  76-8 with Assistant Chief John Wright was the first unit responding.  He was advised that the fire had been extinguished by the occupants however in doing so both were injured.  Units responding included Engine 76-1, Engine / Tanker 76-5, Engine / Rescue 76-3, Amb A-76, Amb B-76, SCEMS Medic 105 and DSFM.  Units arrived to find two patients.  One patient had localized second degree burns to his hands.  A second patient had second degree burns to her hands and first degree burns to her head / face.  Both patients were transported to PRMC.  As stated the fire was extinguished prior to our arrival by the occupants using a garden hose.  The scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshall's Office.
